Stafford House London
- Stafford House School of English was founded in 1952. The London School opened in 2011. With over 60 years' experience and success behind us, Stafford House remain focused on maintaining the highest standards and on the development of each student’s full potential.
Facilities
Located across two fantastic teaching sites within a 5 minute walk of each other in central London, Bloomsbury, you will learn in fresh and bright classrooms, with up-to-date learning technology and modern conveniences, including IT suites, high-speed WiFi, comfortable student lounge, café and a library.
Classrooms
With two teaching buildings you may find your classes are across both sites – our new building at 90 Great Russell Street and in our main school building at 2 Southampton Place. Both buildings benefit from the following;
- Interactive Whiteboards allow our teachers to use the latest technology in your learning experience
- We can use the internet integrally in classes giving you practical examples of how to use your language in the 21st Century.
- We can also watch High Definition videos. They are a perfect environment for helping you to learn English.
Study Centre
This is where you can come and check your e-mails, do your homework, borrow reading material and spend time outside of your classes improving your English. You can bring your laptop and use the free WiFi. We have a good range of learning materials available to borrow or to purchase. Don’t forget your main course book is included in the fees.
How We Teach
Our teachers are the best thing about Stafford House. They have experience teaching in the UK or abroad and regularly participate in training to improve their skills. They take student feedback weekly so they can adapt the course to suit the needs of the class.
Teaching Methodology
- Our Directors of Studies are based in all of our schools to ensure our programmes are of the highest possible quality, our class sizes are small and our students leave having gained the maximum from their time with us.
- On your first day you will take a language assessment. It assesses your knowledge of grammar and vocabulary, and how well you are able to understand and speak English. This helps us to understand the class in which you will be happiest and most successful.
- Also, every month you will have a one-to-one tutorial with a senior member of staff to make sure you are on track to achieve your goals and fulfil your potential. It’s a good opportunity to review your course choices and learning methods, and to really make sure you achieve what you want to achieve.
- Good nationality mix and an active social programme allow you to practise your English outside of the classroom. Our study centre is also stocked with language resources that allow you to work in your own time.
